[CITYLAND] Manager of Engineering & Design Management

About the Role

The Manager of Engineering & Design Management is responsible for evaluating design consultants, managing and approving construction designs, supervising author inspections, controlling budgets, monitoring contracts, and coordinating solutions for issues arising during construction. This role also oversees administrative tasks, reporting, and proposes strategic solutions to ensure the quality, timeline, and efficiency of all projects.

Key Responsibilities

Consulting & Evaluation of Design Consultants

• Assess profiles and capabilities of design consultants.
• Recommend evaluation standards tailored to each project.

Design Management

• Develop and submit design requirements for approval.
• Provide design solutions and feedback in accordance with contracts.
• Review design documents and drawings to ensure compliance with current regulations.
• Evaluate proposed design solutions and material usage.
• Prepare documentation for submission to government authorities.
• Coordinate with consultants to provide necessary documents for appraisal and verification.

Design Approval & Acceptance

• Manage acceptance, payment, and settlement with design consultants.
• Participate in technical acceptance, phased acceptance, and project handover.
• Collaborate with specialized departments to ensure accuracy and project timelines.

Author Supervision

• Review project documents and drawings.
• Update and verify legal frameworks.
• Resolve design-related issues arising during construction.

Contract & Consultant Management

• Monitor quality, progress, and efficiency of consulting contracts.
• Oversee acceptance procedures with consulting units.
• Verify contract settlement documents regarding volume and quality.

Budget Control

• Control design progress and quality in line with contractual obligations.
• Ensure design compliance with approved investment budgets.

Administration & Reporting

• Carry out assigned tasks from senior management.
• Propose cost-effective design solutions while ensuring quality.
• Prepare and deliver periodic reports.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Civil/Industrial Construction, or equivalent.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in design, design management, or construction.
